Pidgeon
29 Jul 2025

I am finding out while writing this post that the name of the bird is actually spelled "pigeon," without the "d." That said, I believe that the title of these images should be Pidgeon.

Taken at Fort Knox in Maine. Digital.

Terms Of Use
I'm still working on setting up the site. If you for some reason want to use these photos (such as for an essay or thesis), I request that you ask me and explain where they're going to go. I'll more than likely be willing to let you. I hope to establish a message board for these sort of requests. These photos may not be posted to (the majority of) social media platforms, and may under no circumstances be fed into a genAI bot.

What's This Site?
Hi. This is a personal photo blog, nothing meant to be a professional portfolio. I'm new to HTML. I was hoping to find a way to share my photos while distancing myself from Meta (instagram, facebook, etc.) because of concerns related to data use. Feel free to click on the images to see them better- they should open in a new tab.
This is a theme I made myself. It's still kind of a work in progress, but I couldn't find anything that looked like what I wanted. I've put a lot of work into making sure it functions the way that I want it to.
I'm a disabled artist in an unrelated industry. Photography has been a hobby of mine for a while. I like to document things, for myself mostly. I started with digital photography, using my first "real" camera in about 2018. I've been getting into film a little more recently. It's always something that's interested me, but I don't have the money to photograph only (or even primarily) in film. While I'm excited to post some of my work here, I've always been unnerved by the idea of my work existing in perpetuity. Art being completely indistructable feels... wrong to me, and I certainly don't appreciate my information being scraped and harvested for profit. For these reasons, there will likely always be some images that I don't share.
And yes, I could have just made a Tumblr or used a website bilder on something like squarespace. I didn't want to do that. So, this place exists now!
You can scroll in either of these boxes to find more posts.

Next Goals:

  • Figure out how to make a button to turn off the custom fonts, as a way to make the site more accessible.
  • More decor, blinkies, etc.
  • Fill in the posts with some of my work!
  • in my shoes
    Spring 2026

This was actually a project for class, shot on 35mm half frame in a disposable camera. It's a statement on my experience as a young person with disability as I continue to get worse over time. The goal was to capture some aspects of my life that, generally speaking, people I pass by in public can't and don't imagine. All of the captions are pieces of real conversations I've had with people around my health that impacted me in some shape or form. A few are my own thoughts.

It's common for disabled people to be portrayed in the media as brave or inspirational. These, on the other hand, are the day-to-day realities-- the fear, the hours alone in waiting rooms, the rifts it tears in relationships that were supposed to be supportive. Not pictured here, but captured, are photos of dirty laundry and miscellaneous objects that wind up strewn across my floor during flares (because, when the options are "eat" OR "tidy up," one must chose to eat in order to live).

Here's a few bonus photos from this roll, unrelated but I liked them enough to give them a title :)
